Are you a boss lady ready to take your work to a new level? Do you have an idea or dream you know you can pull off? Well, there’s never been a better time to make that move than today, and there’s never been a better place to do it than with Women Entrepreneurs of Berkeley at The Office.
To celebrate and support women-owned businesses, The Office: Berkeley will be hosting the first-ever InnovateHers Pitch Party and networking event. In collaboration with Women Entrepreneurs of Berkeley, the City of Berkeley’s Office of Economic Development, and the Berkeley Chamber of Commerce, The Office: Berkeley invites Bay Area women business owners and entrepreneurs to pitch their business ideas to a panel of local leaders. After considering each pitch, the panel will identify three businesses with outstanding potential, and award them with the following prizes:
- Grand Prize: One year free coworking office space for two provided by The Office: Berkeley ($7200 value).
- 2nd Place: 10 free hours of conference room use provided by The Office: Berkeley ($500 value).
- 3rd Place: Mentorship lunch with a woman leader from the panel.
A women-driven pitch party supports one of The Office’s core tenets: To foster female ingenuity and entrepreneurship in our own community. Women-owned businesses accounted for almost 1.6 trillion dollars of revenue in 2016 and provided nine million jobs nationally. And while women-owned businesses are on the rise, we still have obstacles to overcome. For instance, recent studies indicate that investors are twice as likely to fund males over females during pitch events, even when the content of the pitch material is the same.
Everyone is welcome to watch, eat, drink, and network, but pitch participants must run, or be developing, a business that is at least 50% woman-owned.

Pitch Contest
Each participant will be given three minutes to pitch their presentation. Pitch participants may use this form to register for the event by Friday, August 18, 2017. Guidelines for the pitch will be provided after registration and selection of applicants.
The main event begins at 6pm. A panel of amazing local women, including members of the Berkeley Chamber of Commerce and Women Entrepreneurs of Berkeley, will choose the best 3-minute pitch. Prizes will be awarded at the end of the night.
